It was late September when I visited CRU Creative Hub's brand-new audio studio.

I was very excited about spending that morning with our dear friends and clients (we still owe you a post about our extensive work there). We recorded the first episode of their new Indiworkers podcast, and I had the honour of being the first to be interviewed.

We discussed strategy and the importance of planning in the creative industries, where most of our clients work.

Our clients Cátia, Ana Rita and Helder also had some time to talk over the phone about the "trigger" to start a change process with the help of a consultant. A cold-minded friend or, to put it simply, an adult. Their words.

You can listen to the episode here if your Portuguese is good enough.

Why is it important to anticipate the future and plan for the medium and long term?

In a post-COVID era, we reflect on how creative businesses (re)acted to the pressures of a crisis and how strategic planning "serves precisely to work with the unpredictable."

This is the first episode of the IndieWorkers Podcast RESILIENCE series. We discussed these and other subjects with Miguel Barbot, a creative business consultant at Ofício and co-founder of Velo Culture.
