Saber Fazer in The Lissome Magazine

Knowledge is Power. After all, we can’t protect what we don’t know or understand, so educational resources are key to raising awareness.
— Alice Bernardo

Our friend Dörte de Jesus, editor-in-chief of the wonderful The Lissome, spent a few days in Porto earlier this year and interviewed Alice for the latest edition of the Magazine.

In the four pages dedicated to Saber Fazer, you can read about Alice’s vision for craft education and the importance of structured, rigorous and high-quality curricula, as well as the importance of bringing visibility to craft and craftspeople, local resources and other topics central to what we do here at Saber Fazer and Barbot Bernardo.

In this edition of the Magazine, you can also see a breathtaking editorial shot in Porto, written by Dörte and photographed by Florence de l’Olivier. The tools and materials used are from the Saber Fazer shop or collection, and you will also recognise some of Ana Rita de Arruda’s work being used by the models.

You can order a copy of the Magazine at The Lissome website.

“In its fifth edition, Rise Up Rooted, Like Trees, The Lissome invites us to anchor ourselves in resilience and hope, exploring personal, cultural and ecological pathways toward renewal. Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poetic vision – “If we surrendered to earth’s intelligence, we could rise up rooted, like trees” – this issue brings together visionary voices, practical tools and deep reflections on reconnecting with the Earth’s wisdom through creativity and craft.”
